The Tunnel of Love is located in the small town of Klevan, in the northwest Oblast of Rivne, a sort of half way point between Lviv and Kyiv. The train track was originally used by the Soviets in the Cold War, to transport military equipment to a nearby, secret military base. The trees were planted beside the track to provide ample coverage so the operation would remain secret. Trains still pass through here 3 times a day, transporting wood.
Locals believe that every couple should come here, make a wish and kiss for the wish to come true (given their intentions are sincere).
The other belief says that the rail symbolizes two people going together through life and moving in one direction.
